The boys had a great experience of being hosted in Calgary and they were in good spirits as we travelled to the Glacier Icefields stopping at Lake Louise for a quick spot of lunch which was absolutely stunning.
On route to the Icefields we came across the start of a forest fire which would come to hamper our days plans. The fire would cause the road to be closed until 7am the next morning meaning that if we wanted to return to our accommodation and activities in Banff we would have to take a 10 hour detour which was not possible.
That put us onto plan B as we continued to travel through the Rockies on the 6 hour drive to Kamloops where we had scheduled to stay the following night. We have arrived safely and look forward to spending 2 nights here instead of 1 meaning that we can get a training session in before the World Cup final tomorrow and then onto some leisure activities.
The boys are all exhausted after the long bus journey but are all in good spirits and will surely remember the breathtaking scenery through the Rockies.
